When I was in grade school and middle school every fall when the new school year started the teacher would give us an assignment, “What I did on my summer vacation”. Now after spending several months sheltering in place from the Corona virus, I thought what have I done with my extra time at home. First I will mention that I am fortunate enough to work from home, the warehouse where I work is about 75 feet from my back door. So I have had plenty of time to work.
Away from work I am not a person who watches much television; I have done no binge watching. I do enjoy movies on occasion, which got me thinking about my favorite movies of all time. So I decided to put together a list of my 100 favorite movies of all time. The only criteria being that these are the movies that I really like the most, they are not all Academy Award winners, not all classics, except maybe to me. The process of putting together my own list took longer and was more effort than I originally expected. I started with a list of movies that came to mind, and then I started searching top movies of all genres, lists of movies from favorite actors, any movie list that came up in a search. I listed all of the movies on spreadsheet that I thought might make the top 100 list. After I had a list of approximately 150 movies, I started to put the movies in order and came up with “Tim's Favorite Movies (Top 100 & 25 Honorable Mention)”. Yes I was unable to stop at 100, because I still had movies left on the list that I thought deserved mentioning.
The list could be modified at any time, by recalling a movie that I had forgotten or even by seeing one of the movies on the list that I haven’t seen for 30 years and realizing maybe it wasn’t as good as I remember. Here is my list;
